Claims Vacant Houses Key To Wiping Out Homelessness In Clare

A prominent charity believes that bringing vacant houses back into use is the key to clamping down on homelessness in Clare.

The Peter McVerry Trust has been engaging with Clare County Council with a view to operating a base out of here by Christmas, as part of an expansion of its services into rural areas.

The latest figures from the Department of Housing show 72 people in Clare have no permanent home.
