Pope Francis has confirmed he will be coming to Ireland in 2018 to attend the World Meeting of the Families in Dublin. 

It's hoped he will also travel to other areas of the country, with Bishop Fintan Monahan to invite the pontiff to the Diocese of Killaloe when he visits Rome in January of next year. 

Eoin O'Hagan of Clare Virtually says that including Holy Island in the pope's itenerary would be appropriate.
