It's claimed that the ongoing delay in providing a solution to traffic problems at North Clare's notorius traffic blackspot is having a detrimental effect on the tourism industry.

There's reports of mile-long tailbacks on the Lahinch side of Ennistymon in recent days in the height of the tourist season, with similar delays coming from Ennis.
Early last month, Transport Infrastructure Ireland rejected a proposed solution to the ongoing congestion at Blake's Corner, which would have included the construction of a new bridge upstream from the existing Ennistymon Bridge.
