The Chair of the new Policing Authority says morale among Gardai is poor, and the members she’s met have complained of a lack of resources.

The Authority held its first meeting yesterday, and will concentrate on hiring new staff in the short term.
One of the first priorities will be to begin the process of appointing senior Gardai, a function the Policing Authority is taking over.
Chairperson Josephine Feehily says she visited a number of Garda stations, where Gardai aired their grievances.
