A Clare County Councillor believes the local authority's housing department is "out of touch" with what's happening on the ground.

A special meeting is taking place in Shannon tomorrow morning between council officials, elected members and members of the public to review the county's housing policy.
A number of issues will be discussed including the way in which social housing is provided, the length of the waiting list and advice that can be given to people in need of social housing.
Independent Shannon Councillor and Chair of the local authority's Housing Committee Gerry Flynn believes elected representatives are better placed than officials to understand the needs of the local community.
