It's claimed the cancellation of two flights from Shannon this week, undermines the viability of the Mid-West airport into the future.
Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Mc Mahon is commenting after Aer Lingus cancelled a flight from Shannon on Tusesday, using the aircraft for another service from Dublin instead.
Some of the passengers were flown to Dublin and onto London where they got a connecting flight to Boston.
A second incident involving the same aircraft happened yesterday but a replacement plane operated the Shannon to Boston service instead.
Aer Lingus have said that the fight was cancelled due to a technical issue but Councillor McMahon has been telling that he doesn't accept that excuse.
