Urgent solutions are being sought to combat serious road safety issues plaguing a Clare community.
Clarecastle residents have raised concerns over a growing volume of Heavy Goods Vehicles and motorists using a local road as a rat run and speeding past scores of roadside homes.

It’s understood vehicles are leaving the main Ennis to Kildysart Road to join the L4172 at Claremount, before traversing Clarecastle village and accessing the motorway via the Old Limerick Road.
Mayor of Clare and Clarecastle Fine Gael Councillor Paul Murphy says intervention is needed to prevent an accident.
