Claims New RSA Price Hikes Will Hurt Clare’s Young, Rural And Vulnerable

It’s claimed the RSA’s new price hikes for NCT’s, licences and driving tests will hurt impoverished and young people in rural Clare the hardest.

From January 1st, Driving Licence and Learner Permit renewals will cost €65 and €45 respectively, a rise of a tenner.

The National Car Test will now incur a fee of €60, while a re-test will jump from €28 to €40, an increase of 43% – but the RSA insists the changes are necessary due to planned public expenditure and government priorities for the coming year.

Cratloe Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat O’Gorman insists its an unfair approach.
