Claims New Government Has ‘Great Opportunity’ To Prevent Further Increase Of Homelessness

A Midwest homeless charity claims the new government has a ‘great opportunity’ to prevent any further increases in the number of people in homelessness in 2025.

It comes as Government formation talks are set to resume today, with the hopes of having a government in place for the first sitting after the Dáil Christmas recess on January 22nd.

The Department of Housing’s latest report shows there are 95 adults in Clare accessing emergency accommodation while across the Midwest there are 210 homeless child dependents.

Head of Policy and Communications with Novas, Una Byrnes, says the solution is not a difficult one should be the main priority of the next government.
