A Kilrush Councillor has said people in the town are considering forming a vigilante group in a bid to protect their property.
Independent Councillor Ian Lynch says concerns are high over incidents in which property is being targeted.

Garda figures show 24 recorded thefts from vehicles in the past nine months, representing an 85 per cent spike in such incidents.
Frustrations are so high, that Councillor Lynch says people are considering taking the law into their own hands.
