It’s claimed a greater number of Gardaí are needed in West and North Clare given the large number of tourists flocking to the region in the Summer months.
It comes as 21 new Gardaí have been deployed throughout Clare in recent weeks, with 15 installed in Shannon and a further six set to take up posts in Ennis.

Doonbeg Fianna Fáil Councillor, Rita McInerney, claims locals also hold high levels of fear of theft and rural crime given the lack of Garda resources in the county.
She says Gardaí are stretched thin given the vast area of land they have to cover.
