Claims Government Housing Report Is Providing False Hope

The Chair of the local authority's housing committee believes the Government's Housing Actions Report gives a sense of false hope to people on the county's social housing list.

The document, which has just been published, outlines thirty actions taken across the housing spectrum to date, including the publication and implementation of a 4 billion euro Social Housing Strategy.

But Councillor Gerry Flynn believes details contained in the document are no different from those announced prior to the election and he feels it doesn't go far enough in outlining how the housing crisis will be tackled over the coming years.
