Claims Fuel Prices Adding Insult To Energy For Struggling Clare Households

The Government is being urged to suspend any further fuel tax hikes in order to ease the strain on struggling Clare households.

Petrol and Diesel prices have now reached their highest to date in 2024, at an average cost of €1.81 and €1.78 per litre respectively, according to the AA.

Excise duty is expected to be fully reinstated in August, with a further 4c hike on Petrol and 3c on Diesel in the pipeline.
