A Clare homeless service provider says the adverse affects on families living in emergency accommodation become enhanced during the winter months.
The Department of Housing’s most recent Homeless Report has revealed that almost 4,000 children are without a home in Ireland last month, a new record high.

Although the number of adolescents availing of emergency accomodation has dropped locally, there are still 137 children living homeless in Limerick and Clare.
Nova’s Head of Policy and Communications, Una Byrnes, says the experience is deeply traumatic.
