Claims Clare Childcare Closures Devastating Rural Communities

A Clare creche owner believes the delivery of high quality childcare in every locality will not be possible unless the government urgently revisits sectoral supports.

It comes in response to Early Childhood Ireland’s 2024 Barometer which found that 80% of parents in Munster believe that guaranteed services should be available in their communities.

While 53% of those surveyed were of the opinion that government should pay the wages of creche staff to ensure the industry remains intact.

Co-Owner of Kidz Haven in Shannon Noel Mulderrig claims the state is failing to grasp the gravity of the problem.
