Public liability claims against the HSE in Clare increased by over 500% to just over 230 thousand euro last year.

The State Claims Agency is responsible for the management of claims against public bodies such as HSE West.
In 2012, legal costs and compensation in the region of €41,000 was paid out to claimants in relation to incidents which occurred in Clare.
This figure increased significantly to just over €230,000 in 2013.
The SCA says it can't comment on specific cases but that it does expect costs to rise as more claims are received and resolved.
Overall in HSE West Claims in the region of €2 million were resolved last year.
