Claim Lack Of Disabled Parking In Ennis Impacting Children With Special Needs

A Clare pensioner says the lack of disabled parking in Ennis is not only restricting business in the town, but social opportunities for young people with special needs.

According to the latest census, there are over 6,200 people living with a disability in the Ennis catchment area alone, all of whom are entitled to access a universal bay.

According to the local authority, there are just 81 disabled bays in the town, while a further 31 are allocated for age friendly use.

Speaking on Clare FM’s Morning Focus, retired Ennis Teacher and Save Ennis Town member Joan Duggan says its impacting lives and the town’s reputation.
