The Irish Christmas Tree Throwing Championships will take place in county Clare next month.

The competition, which is based on age-old lumberjack traditions, will see members of the public competing to achieve the longest distance for throwing a standard 1-point-5 metre tree.
All proceeds from the event, which will take place at Tim Smyth Park in Ennis on Sunday January 4th at 1pm, will go towards the ISPCC Childline service.
This year's winner will also receive the Irish Christmas Tree Throwing Championship trophy.
