The Chinese Ambassador to Ireland has confirmed he’ll be exploring investment opportunities at the Roche site in Clarecastle.
Zhao Xiyaun has visited Clare for the first time, with the former pharmaceutical plant, Clarecastle GAA Club, Áras Chontae An Chláir and the Cliffs of Moher among the stops on his trip.

240 jobs were lost in 2016 when Roche shut down and the Swiss company is currently in the process of decommissioning the site to brownfield status.
Speaking to Clare FM, after meeting with Roche Management, Ambassador Zhao says he’ll be liaising with Chinese companies about its opportunities.
