A young girl is in a critical condition after she was found unconscious at a house in Clareabbey this morning.
She’s been taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment, where her injuries are described as ‘serious’.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at a property in Clareabbey, on the main Ennis to Clarecastle Road, at around 8 o’clock this morning.
Gardaí responded to the scene along with National Ambulance Service paramedics, and have since confirmed that a ‘minor’ was found injured at the property and removed to University Hospital Limerick, where her condition is described as ‘critical’.
A woman who was found unconscious at the scene was also taken to UHL, where condition too is considered critical.
An incident room has been established at Ennis Garda Station and a Senior Investigating officer has been appointed to oversee the investigation, while a Family Liason Officer has been appointed to the family.
The scene currently remains preserved and the scene is currently being examined by Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit.
