Child drowns at Dublin Pool

A 4 year old boy – who got into difficulty while swimming at the National Aquatic Centre yesterday – has died in hospital.

It’s understood the little boy was playing in the paddling pool, when the incident happened at around half six yesterday evening.

Efforts were made to resuscitate him and he was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, Dublin where he passed away last night.

Gardaí in Blanchardstown are investigating.
