Chief Superintendent Insists ‘Significant Resources’ Still Deployed To Drugs Unit Despite Incidence Decrease

The Chief Superintendent of the Clare Garda Division insists ‘significant resources’ will still be deployed to combatting drug crime here, despite a sharp drop in detections so far this year.

A meeting of this county’s Joint Policing Committee has been told that incidents of possession in Clare have dropped by nearly half between January and August.

Detections of sale and supply have also fallen by 20 percent in the same timeframe.
