Charges are expected to be brought against two people arrested after a stabbing incident in Galway which has left a Clare woman in a critical condition in hospital.
The 44 year old woman and 28 year old man were both detained in the early hours of yesterday morning, shortly after the woman suffered a stab wound to the abdomen in a house at an estate on the Headford Road.
The 30-year old had been living in the city for a number of years, but is originally from Cratloe in South-East Clare.
The two people that were arrested were released without charge last night, though Francis Farragher from the Connacht Tribune newspaper says further developments are expected.
