The High Court has granted permission for an environmentalist to bring a challenge against the decision to grant planning permission to extend an existing wind farm between Lissycasey and Kilmaley.

ESB International was given the go-ahead by An Bord Pleanala to build seven additional turbines at Boolynagleragh, but Peter Sweetman says this is "unreasoned and unreasonable".
Clare County Council had rejected a planning application in respect of the project, but this was later overturned by An Bord Pleanala, and it is this decision which Mr. Sweetman is challenging.
He was granted permission in the High Court to take a case against this decision, and the matter is due back before the court in October.
