The CEO of UL Hospitals Group says the new adault Cystic Fibrosis Unit, which is opening at the region's main hospital today, will help extend the life of many sufferers.

The unit is opening in the Leben building which has recently been developed on the campus at Dooradoyle.
The building cost 16.5 million euro and also includes a 24-bed neurology/stroke unit and a symptomatic breast unit.
Much of the funding had been covered by local CF campaign groups and Colette Cowan says it was a hard-fought campaign.
