CEO Of GeoDirectory Says Vacant Business Premises’ Across Clare Could Be Put To Better Use

The CEO of GeoDirectory says towns in Clare could become more vibrant if their vacant business premises’ became residential.

According to a new report from data analysis firm GeoDirectory, a third of Kilrush’s retail premises are empty, which is the highest nationwide figure, while this number is around 30 percent in Ennis and just over 18 percent in Shannon.

The Covid-19 pandemic forced a great deal of businesses across the county to close with owners now struggling to recruit staff due to many pivoting to other sectors.
