Central Bank holds growth prospects steady

The Central Bank’s holding growth prospects steady at half-a-per cent for this year – adding there are signs of a "slow and moderate" improvement in the world economy.

But if the profits of multi-nationals are excluded, the Irish economy would remain in decline with a contraction of nought-point-seven per cent predicted.

The Bank says the budget targets for this year remain within reach, and that our wage rate competitiveness continues to improve.
