Centra has ordered the withdrawal of an promotion which offered cheap alcohol as part of a children’s allowance day deal.

The promotion had been on display at 2 stores in Dublin and a further two in Wicklow and Offaly sparking outrage from retail groups and politicians alike.
Centra has apologised for the children’s allowance day deal – and added that it takes the sale of alcohol very seriously.
