Celebrations are underway today at the graduation of Clare’s next generation of aviation safety experts.
AirNav Ireland, which oversees the safety of all flights arriving and departing Shannon, Cork and Dublin Airports has conferred 23 new cadets at a ceremony in the Strand Hotel this lunchtime.
Among them are a Clare contingent of three new Air Traffic Controllers and four Air Traffic Safety Electronic Engineers.
Shane Kavanagh from Miltown Malbay, Cathal McDermott from Sixmilebridge and Jose Luis Fernandez, originally from Spain and now living in Shannon graduated as Air Traffic Control Officers.
Diarmaid O’Loughlin from Shannon, Eoin McClay from Clare, Gaurab Rijal originally from Nepal and now living in Shannon and Adnan Malik, originally from Pakistan and now living in Shannon all graduated as Air Traffic Safety Electronics Engineers.
