Celebration Of Life Ceremony For Clare Activist Dermot Hayes Today

A celebration of life ceremony will take place later today for well known Clare Disability Campaigner, Activist and Author Dermot Hayes.

Dermot co-founded the Clare Leader Forum in 1992 and was a prominent member of several activist groups across Clare and beyond, most recently chairing this county’s branch of the Irish Kidney Association, in which he played an instrumental role in securing a dialysis unit for Ennis.

The Corofin native passed away peacefully on January 3rd at 71 years of age, and will be remembered at a humanist ceremony today in St Patrick’s Hall at 12 noon, before he’s laid to rest in Laghtagoona Cemetery.

Dermot is survived by his wife Marian, daughters Marese and Aimee and wide circle of family and friends.
