A cautious welcome has been given in Clare to a government report recommending a ban on fracking.
The joint Committee on Communications, Climate Change and Environment is publishing it’e report today, which outlines a ban on drilling for shale gas from rock, sand and coal seams.

The cross party committee highlighted worries over potential groundwater contamination, leaks and surface chemical spills, along with the release of greenhouse gases during the extraction process.
