Catríona Lucas has been named the Clare person of the year for 2017.
The 41-year-old member of Doolin Coast Guard was one of three volunteers on board a boat which capsized in choppy conditions, while it was taking part in the search for a missing man in September.
The Ballyvaughan mother-of-two was the first Irish Coastguard volunteer to lose their life during a search and recovery operation.
Catríona will be posthumously honoured at the Clare Association's annual function, which is taking place at the Falls Hotel on February 25th.
