Catriona Lucas is to be honoured as the Clare Person of the Year at an event in Ennistymon tonight.
The Doolin Coast Guard Unit volunteer, who lost her life in a tragedy off Kilkee last September, is the first person to be posthumously awarded the honour that is bestowed by the Clare Association.

It will be collected by her family during a ceremony at The Falls Hotel.
Caitriona’s sister Brid Deeley says it’s a great honour, and a recognition of Caitriona’s commitment to the coast guard and her community.
