The Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council has told Irish Water that Councillors want to meet them in groups, rather than individually.
Councillor John Crowe has asked that Irish Water holds meetings with representatives from the four municipal districts of Ennis, Shannon, Killaloe and West Clare, so that issues from those respective areas can be raised.
Up until now, the state utility has offered only private one-on-one clinics, a proposal which has been roundly criticised by many, but taken up by at least four elected officials today.
That doesn't indlude Cathaoirleach John Crowe – the Sixmilebridge representative has told me what Councillors are seeking now that their calls for a full public meeting have been rejected.
