Cathaoirleach Calls For Extra UHL Beds

The outgoing Chair of the HSE’s Regional Health Forum West is calling for increased efforts to secure extra beds for the region’s main hospital.

Tom McNamara stepped down from the role to carry out the duties of Clare’s county Cathaoirleach – he has been replaced by Galway Councillor Mary Hoade.

It’s just weeks after the opening of the University Hospital Limerick’s new emergency department, which has seen a six percent jump in the number of admissions.
