The Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council is confident that the benefits of increased revenue from the property tax will be felt by residents here.

Property owners will continue to pay the standard rate in 2018, with the additional funds being divided among the four municipal districts – this resulted in an additional 1.5 million euro for the council this year.

The General Municipal Allocation for 2018 will see Ennis getting the biggest portion of the fund at €274,000, while the West Clare Municipal District will receive €267,700, Shannon gets €264,100 and Killaloe will get a boost of €257,800.
