Gardaí have seized a third uninsured vehicle in Ennis in the space of just three days.
During a patrol in the Cloughleigh area last night, the Clare Roads Policing Unit stopped a Kia Cee’d hatchback after receiving an alert via the on-board Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system.
Upon inspection, the vehicle was found to have a physical insurance document that appeared to be in date, but when checked against a database, Gardaí discovered the policy had been cancelled the day after it was taken out.

The car was subsequently seized and the driver will face court at a later date.
