A candlelight vigil is being held in Ennis tonight to remind those who are struggling that support is always there.

The Clare branch of the Samaritans will hold the vigil in the square in Ennis from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock this evening.

Today is the Winter Solstace and the shortest day of the year and the aim of the vigil is to remind people that even in their darkest hours, the Samaritans are on hand to help.
