The Irish Cancer Society has challenged a claim from Retail Ireland that a quarter of cigarette sales in Ireland are made on the black market.

It has criticised the group for using figures supplied by the tobacco industry.
The Cancer Society says cigarette manufacturers overstate the level of smuggling in order to argue for a lowering of the price of tobacco.
