A high profile campaigner says patience is needed in the wait for women to be allowed become deacons in the Catholic Church.

It follows comments by Pope Francis who says he's willing to consider a commission to study whether that will be the case in the future.
Deacons are ordained as Ministers and currently only married men can be one.
