A campaign has been launched to repatriate a West Clare mother of four who passed away in tragic circumstances abroad.
Maura Heffernan, who’s originally from Kilkee travelled to Alberta, Canada last week to suprise her daughter Karen and her granchildren, on Thursday however she suffered a sudden brain hemorrage and later died in hospital.

A Gofundme campaign launched just three days ago to bring Maura home has since raised over €35,000.
Speaking on Clare FM’s Morning Focus, Son-in-law Stephen Curtin says they’re still in shock.
