A campaign group established to protect a prominent Ennis nature reserve from proposed developments is hopeful a recently withdrawn plan is the “very last” project suggested for the area.
Clare County Council has confirmed the planned boardwalk over the Post Office Field in Ennis will be omitted from the County Development Plan if its proposed variation is adopted.
Asked if the omission means no further proposals for the site will be put forward, the Mayor of Clare, Fine Gael Councillor Paul Murphy, has said “you can’t rule anything in or out”.
Chairperson of the ‘Hands Off Ennis Post Office Field’ campaign, Martin Vernon, believes it must “left to nature”.
