Cameron Condemns “Mistake” Which Led To Collapse Of West Clare Native’s Murder Trial

The British Prime Minister says the collapse of a case against a West Clare native, accused of the Hyde Park bombing, was down to a "dreadful mistake".

John Downey, who has an address in Donegal but formerly of Saint Joseph's Terrace in Kilrush, avoided prosecution because of a letter he was sent by police, saying he was not wanted for arrest.

Four soldiers died in the IRA attack in London in 1982, and the North's First Minister Peter Robinson has threatened to resign unless the decision to drop prosecution is reviewed.
