There are calls in West Clare to ban the granting of planning for onshore wind farms in the area.
It comes after plans for a 10 turbine wind farm near Kilmihil were rejected last week, having received significant opposition from some local residents.

The local authority has told West Clare representatives that the move wouldn’t be considered appropriate or legal, and that they are awaiting further wind energy guidelines from Government.
Kilrush-based Independent Councillor Ian Lynch believes the area is now ‘saturated’ with such developments.
