Calls have been made for urgent steps to be taken to reduce the risk of burnout for family carers in Clare.
Family Carers Ireland this week released its pre-budget submission, which calls for the 237 euro payment for full-time carers to increase to 325-euro and for means testing for the allowance to be abolished.

It also seeks a minimum of 20 days respite each year for carers.
There’s almost 3,000 carers in Clare and Regional Support Manager West, Victoria Ward says no-one is able to work seven days a week.
