An Ireland South European election candidate is calling for the roll-out of electric vehicle charging infrastructure to be expedited as a matter of urgency.
The Government has set a target of having 1 million electric vehicles on the roads by 2030, but outside of domestic properties, there are currently just over 2,100 public charging points nationwide.
In March, there was a 60% decline in Clare EV sales, with the Society of the Irish Motor Industry pointing to a lack of financial incentives and infrastructure.
