It’s claimed residents of a West Clare village are risking their lives every day to access a recreational site at the heart of the community.
Residents of Kilmihil currently have to traverse the R484 to enter the playground and all weather playing pitch at People’s Park.

However the West Clare Municipal District Roads Design team is now set to explore the installation of a pedestrian crossing adjacent to the amenity after the issue was raised at this month’s meeting of elected representatives.
Kilkee Fianna Fáíl Councillor Cillian Murphy who made the proposal says people need to be able to cross the road in confidence.
