The owner of an Ennis toy store is calling for toy stores to be deemed as essential services in the lead-up to Christmas.
If toy stores remain closed until December 1st, then the crucial pre-Christmas retail period will be squeezed into little more than three weeks.

Toy store owners feel they’ll be adversely affected as they gain no benefit from the January sales – they also worry about a surge in people if they’re only allowed to open for such a short period.
Daithí O’Connor, proprietor of World of Wonder Toys, who have a store in Ennis, says 40% of their sales are made in the lead up to Christmas.
