New car sales in Clare are currently running 5% ahead of this time last year.
The latest figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show 1,465 vehicles with a 241 registration have been sold in the county so far this year.

Electric Vehicle car sales are still lagging behind though with just 127 new units sold here between January and April, which is 40% below last years activity.
SIMI Director General Brian Cooke says companies here need incentives to take on EVs as fleet vehicles.
