Calls For Targeted Enforcement Campaign To Combat North Clare Dog Fouling

Clare County Council is being urged to focus on the stick rather than the carrot approach following a ‘disgraceful’ surge in dog fouling.

It comes amid calls for a targeted enforcement and awareness campaign following a high volume of complaints from North Clare residents over the impact the problem is posing to pedestrians, buggies and wheelchair users.

Last year the local authority acquired six mobile tannoy systems to provide voice recorded messages to remind dog owners of their responsibilities.
